Griffin Canning Under 4.5 Strikeouts -128 (FanDuel)

In six starts this season, Canning has gone over this number just one time. That outing was against the As, who strike out the most against righties in all of the MLB. Tonight, he takes on the Red Sox, who are 28th in K rate against right-handed pitching. Canning is in the 28th percentile for K rate, the 67th for chase rate, and the 53rd for whiff%. Boston whiffs and chases below the league average. Considering that Canning does not have strikeout stuff, he should not rack up more than four strikeouts tonight against Boston.

Eury Perez Over 4.5 Strikeouts +139 (Caesars)

How can you not back this rookie at this number until he lets you down? Pitching at Coors Field for the first time is always a daunting task, but Perez looked so good in his first two starts it is hard to see him faltering. Perez had seven Ks against the Reds to kick off his MLB career and then six against the Nationals, who do not strike out a lot. The Rockies are 20th in K rate against right-handed pitching and 21st at home, so it makes sense why this is plus money. However, all things considered, seeing this 6’8” animal coming at you live is different, and five Ks is not a lot to ask for.

Marco Gonzales Under 4.5 Strikeouts -127 (BetRivers)

Gonzales is not a strikeout pitcher by any means, and he will have a hard time ringing up five Athletics tonight. Gonzales has gone over this number just two times this season. He is in the 84th percentile for chase rate but the 10th for K% and the 11th for whiff%. The A’s strike out a lot less against lefties, and they chase right at the league average. This is a great situation for Gonzales to go under.
