MLB Player Props – Best Bets for Tuesday

Patrick Sandoval Under 5.5 Strikeouts -110 (FanDuel)

The last time the Cardinals faced a lefty starter, Clayton Kershaw sawed them up for nine strikeouts. However, I think this was more of a fluke for this Cardinals team, and I do not expect Patrick Sandoval to mow down six or more Cardinals. Sandoval has only gone over this number once this season. He is in the 22nd percentile for K%, the 52nd in chase rate, and impressively, the 80th for whiff%. However, St. Louis whiffs under the league average, they have a middle-of-the-pack 23.2% K rate against lefties and a 19.3% K rate at home. Even if Sandoval goes 100+ pitches, asking for six strikeouts is a lot.

Mason Miller Over 5.5 Strikeouts -105 (DraftKings)

Mason Miller is just 24 years old, making his third MLB start, but I expect him to have a great outing at home against the Mariners. Miller has not pitched enough innings to qualify for percentile rankings, but from the eye test, I can tell this kid is the real deal. Miller rang up five Ks in his debut against a Cubs team that is 25th in K rate to righties and in his next start six Angles who are 17th in K rate to righties. The Mariners have the 2nd highest K rate to righties in all of baseball and the highest K rate on the road. I like the young stud to put on a show tonight in Oakland. This is certainly one of the best bets for Tuesday.

Freddy Peralta Over 5.5 Strikeouts +105 (DraftKings)

Peralta is not a dominant strikeout pitcher, but he has a great matchup to rack up some Ks today against the Rockies. Peralta has gone over this number three times this season including in his last start. He is in the 65th percentile for K%, the 70th for whiff%, and the 35th for chase rate. The Rockies despite being bad, are not a huge strikeout team. However, in 43 plate apperances, the current Rockies roster has a 39.5% K rate against Peralta. At slight plus money, I’ll gladly take the over.

Ketel Marte Over 1.5 Total Bases +120 (BetMGM)

Ketle Marte is familiar with Rangers’ starter Jon Gray, and I expect him to take his past successes into this matchup against the Rangers. Marte is 11-29 (.379) against Gray in his career with two doubles and a home run. He has only gone over this number once in the past five games, so this is a great spot for him to reemerge. Marte has an 80 wRC+ against righties and a .185 ISO.
