Steven Kwan to Score a Run -115 (DraftKings)
Kwan is leading off today against lefty Rich Hill and has a great opportunity to score a run today. On the season, Kwan has a .315 batting average and a .380 batting average against left-handed pitching. Kwan has a 95.5% Z-Contact% on the season, and Hill allows a 92% Z-Contact% over his last six starts. This gives Kwan a massive advantage in getting on base today against the veteran lefty. Behind Kwan in the order is Amed Rosario, who bats .292 against lefties, and Jose Ramirez, who has a .545 batting average in 13 PA vs. Hill. The contact-heavy Guardians should have a field day against Hill, who pitches to contact.
Brayan Bello Over 5.5 Strikeouts -102 (FanDuel)
Since the All-Star break, the Athletics have a 31.9% K rate. On the season, Bello has gone over this number just four times, but this is a dream matchup for him. Bello is in the 56th percentile for chase rate, and since the All-Star break, the A’s are last in O-Contact%. On the season, Oakland is 3rd in the MLB in K rate against righties and 2nd in the MLB in K rate at home. Considering the form Oakland is in, and how Bello induces chases, asking for six strikeouts does not seem like too many.
Touki Toussaint Over 4.5 Strikeouts +118 (FanDuel)
Toussaint began this season as a reliever, but he has made some starts, and tonight he takes the mound against the Mets. Toussaint has gone over this number twice this season, and he has a good matchup to do so again. The Mets are 8th in K rate over the last five days, striking out 25.9% of the time. Toussaint strikes out a lot of righty batters, and the Mets should have five righties in the lineup tonight. Considering the form the Mets are in and Toussaint’s ability to rack up strikeouts, five Ks is not asking for a lot.
