MLB Player Props – Best Bets for 6/23

Did you miss us?! After taking a little vacation to clear my mind since the MLB grind is so long, and I am back with daily MLB player props. What are the best MLB player props to bet on today? Let’s dive in.

MLB Player Props – Best Bets

Clarke Schmidt Under 5.5 Strikeouts -115 (DraftKings)

Schmidt has 73 strikeouts in 71.2 innings of work this season, but asking him to ring up six or more Rangers today is a tall task, despite the fact that he struck out eight Rangers on April 28th. Schmidt has not gone more than six innings a single time this year, and considering the Yankees do not allow Schmidt to face any offense a third time, he certainly won’t be against the Rangers. Schmidt gets most of his swinging strikes on chases, and the Rangers chase well below the league average. Texas has a 21.5% K rate in the month of June, and they do not strike out that often as a team. Considering they know Schmidt from their earlier matchup, I expect the Rangers to fare better this time around.

Zach Eflin Over 5.5 Strikeouts -136 (BetRivers)

Eflin has been a steady strikeout pitcher all season long, and he has a great matchup to get six today against the Royals. Eflin is in the 64th percentile for K rate and the 78th for chase rate this season. The Royals chase the 5th most in baseball, and they have the 2nd highest K rate on the road this season and the 10th highest in baseball over the last week. Pair that with the fact that Eflin has a 26.4% K rate at home, and he should be in for a great start.

Gunnar Henderson to Hit a Home Run +550 (PointsBet)

Gunnar Henderson, the preseason favorite to win AL Rookie of the Year, has not had a great start to his rookie campaign. With that being said, he is finally heating up, and he now looks like the player that was promised. BallPark Pal anticipates this game having 20% more home runs due to the weather in Baltimore, and Henderson’s 11 home runs against righties lead the Orioles, and so does his 26.2% HR/FB percentage. Gilbert does not allow a lot of home runs, but he allowed 1.21 HR/9 against left-handed batters. At +550, this is worth a sprinkle.
