Cal Quantrill Under 4.5 Strikeouts -130 (DraftKings)

Quantrill has gone over this number just one time this season, and it will be tough for him to do it today against the White Sox. Quantrill has a 20.8% K rate against the current White Sox roster, but most of that comes from Yasmani Grandal, who is not in the lineup today. Quantrill is in the 4th percentile for K rate, the 3rd in whiff%, and the 25th in chase rate. The White Sox are 21st in K rate against right-handed pitching on the season and 14th on the road. Considering Chicago’s familiarity with Quantrill, I do not expect him to have five or more strikeouts today.

Martin Perez Over 3.5 Strikeouts -140 (BetMGM)

Perez has just 39 strikeouts in 49.1 innings of work, but he has a good matchup to get four strikeouts against the Pirates today. He is in the 18th percentile for K rate, the 12th for whiff%, and the 78th for chase rate. While these are not gaudy numbers, he has still gone over 3.5 Ks in five of nine starts this season. The Pirates strike out 20.5% of the time against left-handed pitching, but they have a 24.4% K rate over the last two weeks. Considering the matchup, I like Perez’s chances of getting four or more strikeouts today.

Joe Ryan Over 6.5 Strikeouts -121 (BetRivers)

Joe Ryan is off to an amazing start this season, and he has a great matchup to rack up Ks today vs. the Giants. Ryan is in the 86th percentile for K rate, the 63rd for whiff%, and the 98th for chase rate. The Giants are 5th in the MLB in K rate against right-handed pitching this season, and they have a 23.1% K rate over the last two weeks. The Giants whiff well over the league average, and this is a good spot for Ryan to get after Giant hitters.
