MLB Player Props – Best Bets for Friday, April 7th

After a small, six-game slate yesterday, we have an action-packed Friday. 28 of the 30 MLB franchises are playing, and it should be another electric day of baseball.

What props are we betting on today? Let’s dive in.

MLB Player Props – Best Straight Bets

Zach Eflin Over 4.5 Strikeouts -160 (DraftKings)

Zach Eflin took his talents to the Tampa Bay Rays pitching school this offseason, and he looked great in his first start. He struck out five Tigers in five innings of work, and he allowed just three hits and a run. This number is juiced heavily to the over for a reason – Eflin should be able to make slight work of this Athletic’s roster. Eflin currently has a 16.2 K% against this A’s lineup, but that was before he became a Ray. With Eflin’s newfound success with Tampa, I expect him to dominate this lineup that has a 25.8% K% against right-handed pitching this season.

Hunter Greene Over 7.5 Strikeouts -112 (FanDuel)

Hunter Greene is a flamethrower, but he is inconsistent with finding the strike zone. However, when he is on point, he deals, and he is a strikeout machine. Greene has a 25% K% against this current Phillies lineup, and the Phillies have a 29% K rate against right-handed pitching this season. As long as Greene does not lose the zone, he will rack up strikeouts against this Phillies lineup.

MacKenzie Gore Over 4.5 Strikeouts +112 (FanDuel)

MacKenzie Gore is a young pitcher, and in his first start this season, he struck out six Braves in 5.1 innings of work. Considering how the Braves have beaten up a ton of good pitching so far this season, this is encouraging for Gore. The lefthander now faces a Rockies lineup that has a 30.8 K% against left-handed pitching this season. If Gore could strike out six Braves, I think he can easily strike out five Rockies.

MLB Player Props – Best Same Game Parlay

Oakland Athletics @ Tampa Bay Rays +1523

SGP

It’s already been outlined why there is value in Eflin going over his strikeout prop, but he should really dominate this lineup, so taking him at an alt line of 8+ Ks adds a ton of juice to this parlay. Arozarena has three doubles already this season, and he is one of the hottest hitters in baseball. He has eight hits and a home run to boot, so Randy securing 2+ total bases is not a lot to ask for. Finally, the Rays are rolling, and there’s no way this Athletic’s team is prepared to stop the hottest team in the MLB.
