MLB Player Props – Best Bets for Wednesday, April 5th

MLB Player Props – Wednesday, April 5th

We are back to the top of rotations, so there will be studs on the mound today. We have 13 games today, and it should be a great day. With great pitchers on the hill, their player props are normally priced too highly. So, where is there value in the MLB player props markets for today’s slate? Let’s dive in.

MLB Player Props – Best Straight Bets

Dylan Cease Over 7.5 Strikeouts +110 (FanDuel)

Dylan Cease finished 2nd in AL Cy Young voting last season, and his opening-day start against the Astros showed he is still in Cy Young form. Ceases struck out 10 Astros in 6.1 innings of work. Today, he faces the Giants, who have struck out 50 times in four games so far this season, which is good for a 31.6% K rate. Not to mention, Ceases had a higher K rate when pitching at home last season. I know this seems like a basic thought process, but Cease over strikeouts, especially at plus money, has a ton of value against this struggling lineup.

Jose Siri Stolen Base +390 (DraftKings)

Jose Siri is the faster player on the Rays, and tonight he has a great stolen base matchup against Patrick Corbin of the Nationals. Corbin had a 26% caught-stealing percentage last year, but with the change in rules favoring runners, this number should plummet. Keibert Ruiz, the Nationals’ rookie catcher, has not thrown out a batter looking to run yet this season. Siri stole 10 bags in spring, and he already stole one this season, so I like his outlook to steal a bag today.

Corey Kluber Over 4.5 Strikeouts -115 (BetRivers)
Corey Kluber is on the back nine of his great MLB career, but he has a fantastic matchup and is being undervalued in the K MLB Player Props market today. Last season, the Pirates struck out the most of any team on the road, and they struck out six times to Boston starter Nick Pivetta last night. Kluber rang up four in his first start against the O’s, but that was against a team that was familiar with him and one that doesn’t strike out much. Asking Kluber to get one more today seems reasonable, especially at this price.

MLB Player Props – Best Same Game Parlay

San Francisco Giants @ Chicago White Sox +634

1233

We mentioned above why we like Cease to have a great strikeout outing at home tonight against the Giants. We also like Logan Webb, the Giants starter, to go over his alt strikeout line of 6+. Webb struck out 12 Yankees on opening day in a great start. The White Sox has strike out less to right-handed pitching than the Yankees, but we are asking for Webb to throw 6 fewer Ks for plus money. As for the total, this is not a prop but a traditional total, but it fits the mold. The Giants struggled against great pitching so far this season, and Webb is underrated.
