2023 NFL Offensive Player of the Year Odds and Best Bets

The NFL’s preseason starts this week, and now is the time to start digging into the awards markets.

When it comes to futures markets, you do not need to bet on just one player, and you should also keep adding bets throughout the season. Think of future bets like building a portfolio. If you have four players to win at 20-1, and one of your four players wins, you are profiting a lot even though you just lost three other bets.

Here’s a look at 2023 NFL Offensive Player of the Year odds from DraftKings Sportsbook and discuss some good bets to make now.

2023 NFL Offensive Player of the Year – The Favorites

Ja’Marr Chase, WR, Cincinnati Bengals +1100

Injuries slowed down Chaes’ sophomore season, but when healthy, Chase is as good as any wide receiver in the NFL. In 12 games last season, Chase amassed 1,046 yards, nine touchdowns, a 9.0 ADOT, and 58 first downs. With Joe Burrow throwing him the rock, it’s clear to see why Chase is expected to win this award. He is too good, and so is his QB, and if he stays healthy, Chase should push for 1,400 receiving yards.

Justin Jefferson, WR, Minnesota Vikings +1300

In NFL history, there literally has not been a more prolific receiver than Jefferson over his first three seasons. There are only three paths for Jefferson not to win this award. First is an injury, second would be voter’s fatigue, and third would be another player having a generational season. Jefferson finished last season with 1,800 yards, eight touchdowns, 13.9 yards/touch, 80 first downs, and a 10.1 ADOT. It’s not hard to see why Jefferson is labeled the best WR in the NFL.

Christin McCaffery, RB, San Francisco 49ers, +1500

McCaffery finished 7th in voting last season, but in his first full season as a 49er, McCaffery should be much better. He finished last season with 1,139 rushing yards, 741 receiving yards, 13 total touchdowns, and 95 total first downs. As the lead back in Shanahan’s creative offense, McCaffery has a path to amass 2,000 scrimmage yards this season.

2023 NFL Offensive Player of the Year – Value Bets

Garrett Wilson, WR, New York Jets +3000

Wilson is the clear-cut No. 1 option in New York, and no player is getting a bigger upgrade at the QB position. Wilson is going from literally the worst QB in the NFL last season to one of the best in the history of the sport. In his rookie season, Wilson has 83 catches for 1,103 yards and four touchdowns in his offensive rookie of the year winning season. Now, with Aaron Rodgers, Wilson should improve upon those numbers as well as his 56.5% catch%, his 7.5 yards/target, 56 first downs, and 4.9 receptions per game. Wilson could put together an elite season.

A.J. Brown, WR, Philadelphia Eagles +4500

Brown finished 9th in MVP voting last season, and if he improves upon his ridiculous 2022 numbers, Brown will be in the conversation for this award. He finished last season with 88 catches on 145 targets with 1,496 receiving yards, 11 touchdowns, and 88 yards per game. The Eagles’ surplus of pass catchers also means that teams cannot hone in solely on Brown, so he should continue to see a steady dose of targets which will lead to receptions, yards, and touchdowns.

2023 NFL Offensive Player of the Year – Long Shot Bet

Christian Watson, WR, Green Bay Packers +10000

In 14 games last season, Watson finished with 41 catches, 611 yards, and seven touchdowns. Yes, he is going from Aaron Rodgers to the unknown Jordan Love, but Rodgers was not good last season, and Watson dealt with injuries for the majority of the year. If Love is an above-average QB, Watson will be his number-one option, and this duo has a chance to make noise in the wide-open NFC/NFC North.
