TGS NCAA TOURNEY UPDATE...LOW-MAJORS HISTORY IN DANCE!
by Bruce Marshall, Goldsheet.com Editor

So, following are straight-up and pointspread results for the “low major” conferences in NCAA Tournament play since 1994 (of course, skipping the lost Dance of 2020). Keep in mind that the lower-rung leagues have often tended to cover spreads, or not cover spread, en masse during sub-regional action. And the last Dance in 2019 provided a darned good example on the plus side; low-majors were 11-5 vs. the line against non-low-majors, the second straight season these sides ahve recorded a winning spread mark in the Dance. But, don't forget, as recent as the 2016 & ‘17 Dances, the lower-tier reps were a combined 8-15 vs. the number. As you can see, proceed with some caution, as results have often reversed quickly in past years.
“Ws” and “Ls” below reflect the pointspread result for the “low-major” team in the matchup.
