Matthew Boyd Under 4.5 Strikeouts -104 (BetRivers)
Matthew Boyd is great at making hitters chase and whiff. He is in the 78th percentile in both those categories. However, he is only in the 32nd percentile for strikeout percentage, and he has gone over this number just twice this season. The Nationals chase above the league average, but they whiff the least in the league, and they strike out the least in the MLB at home and against left-handed pitching. Lastly, Washington is 9th in the MLB in wRC+ against lefties, and they are 6th in wOBA, meaning they should be able to get to Boyd.

Johan Oviedo Under 4.5 Strikeouts -138 (FanDuel)

Oviedo has only gone over this number three times this season, and he has not had a five-strikeout day since April 19th. He is in the 22nd percentile for K rate, the 64th for whiff%, and the 20th for chase rate. The D-Backs chase below the league average, whiff the least in baseball, have the lowest strikeout percentage against righties, and are 27th in K rate on the road. Asking for five strikeouts from Oviedo is a lot.

Ken Waldichuk Over 3.5 Strikeouts -130 (BetMGM)

The Astros came into their series with the Cubs with the lowest K rate against lefties in baseball, but after getting diced up by Justin Steele and Drew Smyly, their strikeout rate against lefties has risen. Waldichuk, a rookie, is not as crafty as Steele or Smyly, but the Astros looked lost in the batter’s box against them. Waldichuck has gone over this number six times this season, and today is a good opportunity for him to do so again.
