MLB Player Props – Best Bets for Tuesday, 4/25

Yesterday was an electric day of baseball, and today we are back with the best bets in the player prop market for today, Tuesday, April 25th. We have a full 15-game slate to work with, so without further ado, let’s look at our best bets.

MLB Player Props – Best Bets

Martin Perez Over 4.5 Strikeouts -130 (FanDuel)

After striking out just three batters in his last start and four in his start before that, I anticipate Perez recording five or more strikeouts tonight in Cincinnati. The Reds have a 25.9% K rate against left-handed pitching this season and a 24.8% K rate at home. Perez is in the 36th percentile for K rate and the 13th percentile for whiff%, but he gets a lot of chases which the Reds are prone to do. Perez should go over this number with relative ease tonight.

Logan Gilbert Over 5.5 Strikeouts -133 (Caesars)

In a 27-plate appearance sample size against members of the current Phillies’ roster, Logan Gilbert has a 51.9% strikeout rate. On the season, the Phillies have a 24.7% strikeout rate against right-handed pitching and a 25.3% strikeout rate at home. Gilbert has gone over this number in all four of his starts this season, and he impressed against teams that do not strike out a lot. Well, the Phillies strike out a ton, so Gilbert should be able to rack up the Ks.

Andrew Benintendi Over 1.5 Total Bases +115 (DraftKings)

Andrew Benintendi is having a poor season – he has seen a decrease in all swing metrics from launch angle to exit velocity, but I think he has a very advantageous matchup tonight at the plate. Jose Berrios toes the slab for the Blue Jays, and Benintendi has a great history against Berrios. In 27 plate appearances against Berrios, Benintendi bats .375 with two doubles, a triple, and a home run. Not to mention he has a .622 xSLG, a .433 xwOBA, and a 19.9-degree launch angle. This means Benintendi sees Berrios well, and he puts the ball in the air against him, which is important for locking in doubles or home runs to go over total bases.
