After a small six-game slate of MLB games yesterday, we have an absolutely loaded 15-game slate. With so many games and every team playing, today is a great day to bet on some player props. Where is there value on today’s slate? Let’s dive in and find some MLB player props bets for today.
MLB Player Props – Best Straight Bets
Martin Perez Under 4.5 Strikeouts -124 (FanDuel)
Martin Perez is off to a hot start in the strikeout department. He fanned seven Phillies to start the season, and he followed that up with a five-strikeout day against the Cubs in his second start. Perez has never been a great K pitcher, and I do not expect him to ring up five Astros today. Perez has a 13.2% K rate against this Astros lineup in his career in 152 plate appearances. Houston has the lowest K% against lefties in all of baseball (9.9%), and Houston has a 19.9% K Rate at home this season (23rd). I love the under here.
Johan Oviedo Under 4.5 Strikeouts -110 (BetMGM)
Oviedo struck out five White Sox in his last start, but I do not see him going over this number tonight against the Cardinals. In 44 plate appearances against the Cardinal’s current roster, Oviedo had a 6.8% K rate. At home this season, St. Louis has a 20.4% K rate which is 24th in the league, and against right-handed pitching, the Cardinals have the 7th-best K%. I do not see Oviedo going over this number today.
Kodai Senga Over 5.5 Strikeouts -140 (BetMGM)
If sportsbooks are going to keep giving us this number for Senga, even with decent juice, I will continue to ride the over. Senga had six strikeouts in his last game and eight in his MLB debut, and he can certainly make quick work of this A’s team. Oakland is 10th in K rate against righties this season, and they have the 12th highest K rate at home. Give me the over.
