Both teams are playing on the second leg of a back-to-back with the Cavs beating the Lakers last night while the Clippers fell short against the Jazz. The Cavaliers swept the two-game regular season series last year.

After losing their season opener to the Toronto Raptors, the Cleveland Cavaliers have reeled off eight-straight victories including a 114-100 dress down of the Los Angeles Lakers last night. The recently acquired Donovan Mitchell led the way with 33 points on 10-of-17 shooting from the field. Darius Garland added 24 points of his own while Jarrett Allen posted a 16-point, 11-rebound double-double.

The new look Cavs have excelled in every phase of the game. The Cavs defense ranks third in scoring with only 104.4 points allowed per game while holding opponents to 44.2-percent from the field and 34.1-percent from beyond the arc. Darius Garland has been a defensive pest with 2.5 steals a game while Evan Mobley protects the rim with 1.9 blocks per game.

Offensively they score 116.5 points a game which ranks sixth in the NBA. They also do an amazing job cleaning the glass with 35 rebounds per game. There isn’t much to report on the injury front for the Cavaliers.

The Los Angeles Clippers watched a three-game win streak fall by the wayside in a 110-102 defeat at home against the surprising Utah Jazz. Paul George had another monster game with 34 points on 11-of-22 shooting from the field including five three-pointers. Marcus Morris Sr. chipped in with 18 points of his own.

The Clips defense has shined with only 106.2 points allowed per game and ranking fourth in the league. They have held opponents to 43.6-percent from the field and 32.5-percent shooting from long distance which ranks them third and second respectively.

Paul George leads the Clippers with an average of 23.8 points per game. Offensively they have been the polar opposite as they rank dead last in the NBA with an average of only 102.3 points a game. They rank 16th in shooting percentage at 46.8-percent and 26th in three-point percentage at 32.9-percent. It wouldn’t be an injury report without Kawhi Leonard who will miss this game with a knee injury after only playing two games this season. John Wall will also miss this one for rest purposes while Reggie Jackson and Luke Kennard are both day-to-day.

We have a contest with both teams on back-to-backs but the Cavs seem far more equipped to deal with it. The Cavs have an elite defense and Clippers offense has been completely anemic. Even when Paul George pops off this team still can’t score a ton of points. Their team total prop sits at 105.5 points, which is a total they have reached only four times in ten games. Even in the games they went over, they only scored 109, 110, 111 and 113.

The Cavs are holding opponents to 104.4 points a game, but more importantly hold them to only 34.1-percent from three-point land. The Clippers could also bench their starters tonight with this being their third game in four days. The Clippers do have a great defense and with this being a back-to-back for both teams it could be a complete rock fight. Let’s fade this Clippers offense and go under on their team total.
